Finally, I’m about to journey into XU-Ateneo! I’m “quite” over excited! To the extent of buying my school stuff a month before classes start! Nag Orientation na kami! And boy! I discovered a lot! I discovered that you could walk from the Science Center to the Engineering building without stepping the ground. Just use the sky bridges! I discovered there is plenty of areas to study and socialize in XU-Ateneo, there are plenty of green things. I discovered my family gets Php 120,000 of insurance if I die accidentally (Simbako!). I even discovered that I am just one of the two pioneers of the new course offered named A.B. Development Studies. I discovered that the college of Arts and Sciences is now a SCHOOL of Arts and Sciences, mas sosi. School actually means that the former college is now level 3 in the latest PAASCU survey. I also discovered that the school of Arts and Sciences is nearing its 70th year of existence starting from 1938! The school is said to be the HALLMARK of Jesuit Education! I discovered that my course offers the best of the best teachers in XU, all having Phd’s from American and European Universities. I discovered that we could actually make money in the University by investing in the canteen. I discovered that we ourselves could dismiss a class if the teacher does not arrive in 10 minutes for an hour class. Actually, XU – Ateneo is a wonderful place to learn, plenty to discover and learn! Just keep in mind; we are wonderers in the halls of Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan.
